The short version: TextOpal is free, everything runs in your browser, and we never see your text. Here are the full rules, written the way a human would write them.
01 · Hello 👋
These are the rules for using TextOpal. We wrote them in plain language — no long legal texts that nobody reads. By using TextOpal, you agree to these terms.
02 · What we do
TextOpal is a set of online tools for working with text: a word counter, a password generator, QR codes, a JSON formatter, and more. Everything runs right in your browser — no installation, no sign-up, no waiting. The service is completely free. No ads, no subscriptions, no trial periods, no hidden payments. All you need is a modern browser with JavaScript turned on.
03 · Your text
This is the important part. All text is processed only on your device. Your phone, laptop, or computer does all the work by itself. TextOpal never sees your content, never receives it, keeps no copies, and never passes it to anyone else. When you close the tab, your browser frees the memory. Nothing is saved on a server — nothing ever leaves your device.
04 · Content rights
All rights to your text stay with you. We do not use it, publish it, or claim any rights to it. You confirm that you have the right to use and process the text you work with.
05 · What you can do
Plenty: process text for personal or commercial purposes, use the results anywhere you like, tell your friends about TextOpal, and send us suggestions or bug reports. We especially like the last one.
06 · What not to do
A short list: do not use TextOpal to break the law, do not overload it with bots, do not try to get access you are not supposed to have, do not inject malicious code, and do not copy the design of the site without our permission.
07 · How it all works
Everything is processed in real time, right in your browser. That is what makes TextOpal fast and private. Close the tab and everything stops — there is no background processing.
08 · If something goes wrong
We do our best to keep TextOpal fast and stable, but like any website it can be temporarily unavailable or act up. If you spot a bug, tell us — you can reach the team through the project's public channels.
09 · Third-party services
We do not use analytics, ad networks, or tracking services of any kind. No cookies, no trackers, nothing watching what you do.
10 · Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives on this page, with the date it was updated. If that ever stops working for you, simply stop using the site.
11 · No warranties
We do everything we can to keep the tools fast and correct, but — like any website — TextOpal can be temporarily unavailable or contain errors. Before using a result for something important, check it. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any losses, unless they were caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
12 · Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the service operator is based. Any disputes are heard by the courts of that country.
13 · If a clause does not hold up
If one of these points turns out to be invalid, the rest keep working as before. These terms are the whole agreement between us about your use of TextOpal. And if we do not enforce a rule right away, that does not mean we gave up the right to enforce it later.
